Carol
Follow Me He said!
Have you ever wondered what life has in store for you? What's my future? What will I be in 20 years from now? Will I have anything that I can really call my own? We worry a lot about something that is unknown don't we? When Jesus walked by the shores of Galilee and said to Simon Peter and his brother Andrew who were getting ready to cast their nets "follow me" they dropped what they were doing and did what? They followed. Why did they just up and leave their jobs, why did they abandon everything they knew to follow this man.......Jesus? Was it the power in Jesus' voice, had they heard about this man Jesus from John the baptizer? They heard something that day that changed their lives. It was the call of God that they heard. The same call that you and I have responded to. The call to a better life, one that will change us for all time. The story goes on, Jesus taught them many things but the most important thing He taught them was to go tell others about His passion for people. So, I said "a call to a better life" I didn't mean easy life. As Carol and I make this journey to ready the new property for all that God has called us to do we find it to be a lot of hard work . It is physically demanding because we have so much to prepare. Fencing needs to be put up for pasture management, barns need to be built, the house needs to be built before we can place any buildings on the property for the Wild Hearts n Horses ministry, we don't even have the drive in at the property yet. We watched as God laid the groundwork and He let us see all the things he has been up to and where He has been.....and now.....as if He is saying, wait! Just wait on Me, My timing will be exactly what will see this vision come to fruition. It is a little emotionally exhausting as well. We want to get things moving, the soil work, the building, the driveway, the fencing, cutting down nasty locust trees, mowing riding trails, terracing, getting those soybeans harvested and more. Those are some of the things that make me anxious and shows me how little I am trusting God's timing in everything.
Psalm 118, From my distress I called upon the Lord,The Lord answered me and set me in a large place. The Lord is for me, I will not fear. Following God is not any easy task. It involves patience, hard work, much prayer, faith, trust and obedience. But, if we endure we will see the fruit He has for us. Last weekend we had some fencing supplies given to us, about $600 worth. Then we had someone give us a building, sure it needs to be disassembled but it is a brand new building The person donating that building will end up aiding the ministry in a big way. There was another donation to help us with our ministries computer antivirus. God is still working and we will see great things by just simply following Him.
Micah 7:7-8 But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy, Though I fall I will rise, Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me. A lesson from one of the greatest people of all times, Jesus. Jesus endured the mocking and then the beatings, the trial and more beatings. He then endured the cross, the nails driven into His hands and into His feet all the while knowing why He was to endure such a brutal and unfair and painful death. Jesus took our place, He paid for us with His own body through His death. For everything we have and will do wrong, He paid that cost and our sentence. All He asks in return is to "Follow Him". What will you do?
